After 60 days of intense efforts to win the final battle, the expressway from Yongzhou to Xinning in Hunan Province was completed and opened to traffic

On December 18th, the Yongzhou-Xinning Expressway, which was invested and constructed by the Hunan Provincial Expressway Group and participated in by the Third Highway Branch of the Road and Bridge Group, was officially opened to traffic.

The Yongzhou-Xinning Expressway is 64.4 kilometers long, with a roadbed width of 26 meters. The main line is constructed to the standard of a two-way four-lane expressway, with a designed speed of 100 kilometers per hour. The third contract section undertaken by the company is located within Yidushui Town, Xinning County, Shaoyang City. The total length of the route is 15.68 kilometers. The main engineering contents include 18 Bridges, 9.42 kilometers of roadbed, as well as pavement, greening and traffic safety works.

Since entering the site in September 2021, the project construction team has adhered to the concept of "starting with a sprint and beginning with a decisive battle", taking refined management as the key point, clarifying key nodes and scientifically formulating plans. They completed the overall planning and design drawing of the temporary construction project within one and a half months after the project's entry, and finished the pouring of the first bridge pile foundation along the entire line within four months. In less than two years, the project completed the full connection of all 18 Bridges along the entire line, achieving the production progress goals of the completion of the subgrade and main bridge works as well as the full connection of the entire line. Eventually, the construction task was fully completed six months ahead of schedule, shining the "golden brand" of Sichuan Road and Bridge on the land of Xiangxiang.

Innovation-driven, crafting century-old quality projects. During the construction process, the project team attached great importance to innovation-driven development, closely focusing on the key production points and engineering difficulties of the project. They actively carried out technological breakthroughs and promoted the application of new techniques such as AMPCO sand-making, heavy-duty climbing formwork for high piers, three-dimensional laser paver for bridge deck paving, and hinge-type inner formwork for prefabricated box girders. These efforts significantly enhanced the construction efficiency and ensured construction safety. Up to now, the project has won one silver award of the Fifth National Highway Micro-Innovation Award (the hanging basket bottom-line protection of Sandushui Bridge), three national patent certificates, three enterprise-level construction methods, and six provincial QC achievements. It has been awarded the title of "Advanced Unit in Target Assessment" by the owner for two consecutive years and has been commended once throughout the province by the Hunan Provincial Quality and Safety Bureau.

Intelligent supervision, safeguarding a century-old safe construction site. The project team actively promotes intelligent safety management, applying big data technologies such as the Internet and mobile apps for on-site safety management to enhance safety monitoring of key projects including bridge construction, tower crane construction, and bridge erection operations. At the same time, by integrating the "Party Member Safety Demonstration Post" and the digital management platform, a "Party Member Safety Demonstration Post + Safety Inspection" model has been created. A "Party Member Safety Demonstration Post Safety Inspection Team" has been formed to conduct daily inspections, prevent potential hazards before they occur, and ensure the safe production of the project. Since the project started, no safety accident has occurred.

After the completion and opening to traffic of the Yongzhou-Xinning Expressway, the driving time from Yongzhou to Shaoyang and Xinning will be shortened from the original 150 minutes to 90 minutes. This has accelerated the integration of Yongzhou and Shaoyang into the Greater Guilin tourism circle, effectively promoting the leapfrog development of the tourism industry in southern Hunan. It is of great significance for improving the transportation network in western Hunan and promoting the implementation of the national new era Western Development strategy.
