Unmanned pavement construction on the Panzhou-Dalian Expressway

The unmanned pavement construction on the Panzhian-Dalian Expressway is the world's first innovative practice of achieving the coordinated operation of a group of unmanned road rollers in expressway construction. This project was jointly developed by Sichuan Railway Investment Group, XCMG Group and Tsinghua University. It adopts a remote monitoring data center to plan the optimal operation path and direct multiple unmanned rollers to work in coordination, achieving precise control of the construction trajectory within a range of 2 to 3 centimeters. The entire system only requires one person to operate. Compared with the traditional method, it saves seven operators, significantly improving construction efficiency and quality, and reducing labor costs. In addition, the equipment is equipped with multi-level safety protection measures, such as automatic obstacle avoidance, emergency stop and real-time monitoring, to ensure construction safety. The successful application of this technology marks an important breakthrough for our country in the fields of intelligent transportation and intelligent construction.
