Mica Mountain Tunnel

The Mica Mountain Tunnel is a key project on the Bazhong Expressway (G85 Yinchuan-Kunming Expressway), connecting Guanba Town in Nanjiang County, Bazhong City, Sichuan Province and Xiaonanhai Town in Nanzhong District, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province. With a total length of approximately 13.8 kilometers, it is the longest expressway tunnel in Southwest China and the second longest in the country. The tunnel passes through the geological complex Mica Mountain National Forest Park, with extremely high construction difficulty. It was officially opened to traffic on November 22, 2018, greatly improving the transportation conditions between Sichuan and Shaanxi.
