The Grand Canyon Tunnel of the Emeishan Expressway

The Grand Canyon Tunnel is a key project on the Emei-Hankou Expressway (from Mount Emei to Hanyuan), with a total length of approximately 13 kilometers. It is one of the longest expressway tunnels under construction in the world at present. Passing through the high mountain and canyon areas of Sichuan Province, the geological conditions are complex and the construction is extremely difficult. It is of great significance for improving transportation in western Sichuan and promoting economic development along the route.
