Asmara Copper Polymetallic Mine

The Asmara Copper-Gold Polymetallic Mine, located near Asmara, the capital of Eritrea, is one of the largest mineral development projects in the country. The project is operated by Asmara Mining Share Company (AMSC), which is 60% held by Sichuan Road and Bridge Mining Investment and Development Co., LTD. (SRBM) and 40% held by Eritrean National Mining Company (ENAMCO). This mining area includes four main deposits: Debarwa, Emba Derho, Adi Nefas and Gupo, as well as two exploration deposits: Adi Rassi and Kodadu. The main type of ore is volcanic polymetallic deposits (VMS). The project is planned to be constructed in three phases and the expected lifespan of the mine is 17 years.
